A couple of days ago, a lightning strike hit the control tower at Miami airport. At 7:30 PM on Tuesday, the strike affected radio frequencies and telephone signals. As a result, dozens of flights were canceled, delayed, or diverted. Fortunately, the radar remained operational.
A significant number of complaints were filed by passengers, both those waiting for their flight and those simply waiting for their luggage to come out. It wasn't until 10:00 PM that the airport was able to return to normal.

This is just one of the incidents caused by the storms in Miami in recent days. More than 14,000 power outages have been recorded in Miami-Dade County alone.
